Children are selfish by nature. It usually takes a while for them to realize that life’s not all about them. If we, as parents, don’t train them (and continue to train them) from a very early age what it means to walk in love and to prefer others, then they may grow into selfish, self-centered adults.
Below is 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, a.k.a. the Love Chapter, with various Bible translations combined to expand upon each facet of love. After each of my children has finished his or her Bible reading for the day, I require them to read this. It usually makes for a smoother flowing day!
