Don’t quit.
Don’t give up.
Don’t even consider casting away your confidence.
Why? Because if you will stay steady and remain in faith and patience, you will receive what you’ve been believing the Lord for!
Hebrews 10:35-36 (AMP) Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward. For you have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and thus receive and carry away [and enjoy to the full] what is promised.
This scripture tells us that we need patience.
Having patience does not mean that you just sit around twiddling your thumbs while you wait for God to do what He said. No, patience is not passive – it’s aggressive! It is a firm decision to keep your heart and mind fixed on the Word of God and to believe Him in the face of every test, trial and circumstance that would come your way.
You must be relentless in your faith and patience. Believe God’s Word over what your senses tell you. Believe God’s Word over what your emotions tell you. Refuse to be moved by what you see, hear or feel!
Patience does not surrender to circumstances or succumb under trials. It is the opposite of despondency. It doesn’t give up or give in. It stays with the Word. It strengthens and fortifies your faith.
Hebrews 6:12 (NIV) says, We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.
The answer is on its way. You will see your dream fulfilled at just the right time and at the appointed season as long as you remain in faith and patience.
God is faithful. His Word is true. We must have complete confidence in Him that He will do just what He has promised.
So refuse to give up. Refuse to quit. It is through faith and patience that we inherit the promises of God!

Speechless Alisha! Feel like you wrote this post just for me 🙂 Thank you! I needed to read this & reevaluate my thoughts. Am I trusting God or giving up on God?!
Perfect timing to read such encouraging words, thank you!
God recently – VERY CLEARLY gave me the verse “It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.” Lamentations 3:26 For somebody very close to me. And it is HARD! The patience thing is just killer. WOW! This post has given me a lot to think about. Going to bookmark, read and reread!
He is faithful. He is true. I have a friend who says something I’ve always loved, “The end of the matter with God is always good so if it’s not good, it’s simply not the end of the matter.”
Oh how deceitful is the heart! It is always telling me I can’t do something when if it’s God’s will I can. I love your line about how patience isn’t passive but active. That’s so true because it requires our firm belief in God’s promises.
What an awesome post. I needed this this morning! Thank you for linking up with me today!
Yes, this was perfect timing for me too! Thank you for the encouragement! 🙂
I was linking up with Leaving a Legacy and you happen to be the one linking up before me. God is just amazing. I needed this post of encouragement right now. I love that you point out our patience wasn’t meant to make us passive, but to make us agressive and determined to cling to our faith. Thanks for sharing!
Believing the Word. It is essential to faith and patience. Believing what He says could carry so many people so far if they would but believe! Thanks for your post. Visiting from Missional Women.
Oh waiting patiently is so hard! It is usually my indicator for whether I am the one in control of my life or if it is the Holy Spirit living through me. I know when I am displaying patience and the other fruits of the Spirit, I am yielded to Christ!
Thanks for sharing and linking up with FFF!
I am so glad you said patience is an active thing! It’s one I struggle with, as I always feel like I have to act! Last year I was forced to be more patient, however. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 pancreatic cancer and told I had 3-4 months to live. It’s much easier to be patient when one is so sick. Of course, since I’m feeling better, I am struggling again with impatience! When will I ever learn.
Thank you so much for this encouraging post. It is exactly what I need right now as I am in the midst of some fiery trials. (I’m so glad the Lord sent me here to your blog!) And yes, I am definitely going to keep my heart and mind fixed on the Word of God!
I’m looking forward to reading your other posts as well. 🙂 … Many *Blessings* to you and your family!
What a fantastic uplifting post! Thank you for linking up this week to the Hearts for Home Blog Hop!
