Decoupaged Pumpkin

Create a shabby-chic decoupaged pumpkin to enhance your fall decorations this year.

You will need:

  • a plastic pumpkin (if it’s orange, it’d probably be a good idea to go over it with a layer of gesso first)
  • an old book
  • Mod Podge

Supplies

Step 1:  Rip out pages from the book and begin tearing them into smaller pieces.

Step 2:  Pour some mod-podge into a bowl and, with a sponge brush, paint a layer over the bottom half of the pumpkin.

Step 3:  Spread some mod-podge over the strips of paper (you can use rubber gloves if you don’t want to get your hands dirty, but where’s the fun in that?) and begin sticking them all over the surface. They can be placed as randomly or as orderly as you like. Wait for it to dry, before flipping it over and working your way up to the stem.

Step 4:  Once dry, paint the stem.
