This painting is a mixed media collage of a whimsical cottage made from a vintage hymnal page, decorative papers, acrylic paints and archival inks.
The collage has Jane Austen’s quote, “There’s nothing like staying home for real comfort.” This was spoken by Mrs. Augusta Elton in the novel, Emma. And although Mrs. Elton is not one of my favorite characters, I must say that I completely agree with her on this point!
