I cannot believe that my “baby” girl is 19 years old today! How did that happen?!? I mean, I was 19 years old when Jason & I got married! (Um, that ain’t happening with her for another 10 years!!!)
Olivia is the sweetest, gentlest (ok, sometimes she’s a *wee bit* bossy with her younger brothers), most affectionate daughter. She was the first person to ever call me Mommy — although now it’s “Mum” because she thinks she’s a Brit. But mostly, she is my dream come true.
This poem reminds me of the flood of feelings that overwhelmed me the day she was born 19 years ago:
You are the poem
I dreamed of writing,
I longed to paint.
You are the shining star
I reached for
in my ever hopeful quest
for life fulfilled.
You are my child.
Now with all things
I am blessed.
Happy Birthday, Olivia Rose! I love you more than you’ll ever know!
