We started our homeschooling journey when our daughter was 4 years old. She is currently 19 (and a homeschool graduate), and I can honestly say that I have truly loved this adventure! I didn’t say that it hasn’t been frustrating from time to time, or that I’ve been the perfect homeschooling mom, or that I haven’t wanted to pull my hair (or a certain one of my children’s hair) out — I’m just saying that overall, it has been so much fun and a great joy for our family!
I am not militant in believing that everyone should home school their children — it is definitely not for the faint of heart…or the disorganized…or the uncommitted…or the lazy. It is truly a huge commitment that will require everything you’ve got, and at times, things you haven’t got. But it will be so worth it!
If you have even the smallest desire to educate your children at home, then I encourage you to explore your options and the different styles of homeschooling. It will be a blessing to your entire family!
