Up until now you have probably made thousands of excuses as to why you can’t lose weight, can’t get in shape, can’t eat better, don’t have the time, don’t have the money… and the excuses go on and on.
The truth is, you don’t have time to be sick or in bad shape. You don’t have time to be out of work or in the hospital due to poor health. You can’t afford not to invest in your fitness and well-being! Life is continually moving forward. Don’t miss out on it! It’s time for you to LIVE it!
We are all busy. I know I am — and I’m sure you are too.
It doesn’t matter.
I guarantee you that someone who is busier than you is making the time to workout. I guarantee you that someone who is in worse shape than you is disciplining themselves to eat right and to exercise. I guarantee you that someone who has less money than you is finding a way to invest in a healthier lifestyle.
No more excuses!
You can accomplish your goals if you really want to.
The question is: How bad do you want it?
If becoming healthy and fit is truly important to you, you will make a way. If it’s not really that important, you will just continue to make excuses.
Get up half an hour earlier than everyone else so that you have time to workout. Make exercise as non-negotiable as brushing your teeth! Stop blowing your money on fast foods, junk foods, highly-processed “quick and easy” foods or high-calorie, designer coffees. Instead, invest in healthier foods, dietary supplements, fitness programs, and workout equipment.
Stop saying that you’ll do it tomorrow. Stop thinking that someday it will happen. Make a change in your life today!
Aristotle said, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.”
So, the difference between who you are today and who you want to become will be found in what you repeatedly do.
Take control of your life by taking control of your habits. Discipline your flesh. Yes, it’s painful – but so is regret! You will never regret reaching your fitness goals, but you will regret giving up or simply doing nothing. You will regret not being able to be an active participant in your marriage and in the lives of your children.
Just do it! Do it for your husband. Do it for your children. But most importantly, do it for you!
Remember, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you! All things are possible to you when you believe! The Greater One lives in you and will help you succeed, but you must take the necessary steps (Phil. 4:13; Mark 9:23; John 4:4).
Becoming healthy and fit is worth every bit of the work it takes. You will struggle. You will hurt. You will probably want to cry. You will definitely want to quit. But don’t!
Stop making excuses and make a change instead. Discipline yourself until you’ve established habits of excellence. Keep moving forward. Keep doing what you know to do. Take control of your life and begin living it to the fullest!
